Parkway Bakery & Tavern is an iconic New Orleans institution and the legendary birthplace of the Po’ Boy. Its roots trace back to the 1929 streetcar strike, when the original owners created a hearty, budget-friendly sandwich to feed striking workers—affectionately dubbed “poor boys.” Decades later, when the historic location was restored and reopened with its original recipes, the owners turned to HotOperator to create a menu as legendary as the restaurant itself: a high-performing sales tool that doubles as a cherished tourist souvenir.
